Pupil Premium
At Hertford Primary, we are dedicated to giving every Hertford Child an education that meets their needs and supports their growth. We are proud that our school welcomes children from many different backgrounds, each bringing their own unique and valuable experiences.
We are determined that everyone will reach their full potential within a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where we learn together, take pride in our achievements and respect individuality.
All children will be given the knowledge and skills required to be lifelong learners. We recognise that there are similarities and differences between individuals and groups. Still, we will strive to ensure that our differences do not become a barrier to participation, access, and learning. We create inclusive processes and practices that identify and meet the varying needs of individuals and groups. We all have equal rights but may have different needs, and we recognise that research shows that children who receive the Pupil Premium Grant are more likely than others to face challenges to their learning.
This strategy supports our goals for improving the whole school and is a key part of our School Improvement Plan.
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is a grant schools receive to support the needs of pupils who could be at risk of underachievement due to their individual circumstances, with relation to social disadvantage. These are children who are known to be currently eligible for free school meals, or who have been eligible for free school meals at any time in the last 6 years, as well as Looked After Children, those who have been adopted from care or have left care, and Service children.
What is our Pupil Premium Strategy?
Our Pupil Premium Strategy is a three-year plan. It explains how we use the funding, the main challenges some of our children face, and what we are doing to overcome these challenges and reach our goals. We are now in the first year of this plan. The document also reviews how our strategy worked last year… read more here.
